230.70 Service Disconnect -
General
New text was added and it reads:
(A) Location of Service
Disconnecting Means
(3) Remote Control. Where a remote control device is
used to actuate the service disconnecting means, the service disconnections
means must be located at a readily accessible location in accordance with
230.70(A)(1).
Intent: This new rule clarifies that a remote control
device such as a shunt-trip pushbutton can be used to control the service
disconnecting means, but the disconnecting means must still be located at a
readily accessible location either outside the building or structure, or nearest
the point of entry of the service conductors in accordance with 230.70(A)(1).
